leave it off for a plain plate. Either way costs the same.

Package includes: 2 yellow screws with tops for rear plate, 2 white
screws with tops for front plate, and 4 sticky tapes per plate. Added
free of charge.
Verification
Road legal plates are regulated, so we have to see your log book (V5C)
and your driving licence before we make them. We ask for those once
your plates are in the basket, just before payment — and we keep
them on file, so the next plate you order will not ask again.
